What do we do if we have a plethora of articles that could be listed here and simply want to funnel people to that content. By that I mean, I'm an editor for PennWell Corp., which publishes three water industry trade magazines with relevant content to the pages I've been targeting:

"boiler" "drinking water" "wastewater" "water pollution" "water quality" "water purification" "sewage treatment" "sedimentation (water treatment)" "sanitary sewer overflow" "waste water treatment technologies"

Thus, rather than simply list it as an "External link" -- which is what I did initially only to have it deleted -- I created a new subhead for "Trade magazines and technical journals" to list the three magazines under. Is this OK? Carlos David Mogollon, Web Content Editor - PennWell Water Group; and Managing Editor - Industrial WaterWorld davidm@pennwell.com

Your additions do not comply with Wikipedia's external link policies.(WP:EL) Wikipedia is not a link directory. External links need to be very specific to the content. (eg Evolution may reference specific articles from Science, but it doesn't have a section devoted to magazines and journals that cover evolution.) See WP:SPAM#How_not_to_be_a_spammer for a list of things to consider. Adding your own links to Wikipedia is normally considered bad form. If you'd like to funnel people to your content, consider a search engine. Oasisbob 23:58, 11 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Yep, thats not what Wikipedia is for. Various editors have reverted your additions again. While we welcome you adding neutral, informative content to the various articles...just adding links (even in their own little section) is a bad thing. Please don't do it again.
